Hi,
I work 30 hours a week, and am taking 4 Senior chemistry classes with labs. Just found out I am failing all 4 classes.
I do study, I don’t have a social life, and I am burnt out. I get maybe 3 to 4 hours of sleep a night.
I love chemistry and was doing pretty good till I got into complex calculus in Physical chemistry.
I tried to find a tutor, but it is challenging as I am too advanced for the tutors. The instructor has helped a bit but he isn’t able to most of the time.
I do great in labs, but I must of missed something because now I can barely stay afloat.
I have to work, so cutting hours is not going to happen.
Can you go to each professor, review your status, and see if there is anything you can do in order to pass and salvage your term? If necessary you may need to prioritize classes that you can pass and perhaps retake others.
Ask the instructors for references to tutors --maybe s/he could ask if students in the current class who are doing well would like to tutor
Keep going to office hours
Ask other students in the class who are doing well how they study
It sounds like you can’t do four senior level chemistry classes plus work full time. Can you withdraw from this semester and go back next fall but only take two classes at a time?
