Hello everyone, I am 18 years old and currently in my first year of University. I am attending Florida Tech Online and have completed 7 credits so far. My current major is B.S. in Computer Information Systems and I plan on transferring to University of South Florida in Tampa when I have 60 credits as that is the minimum amount required to transfer without having to take the SAT. Anyways, I have no idea what I really wanna do as far as career goes.
My interests are: Technology, medical/health sciences, aviation and law. I am very interested in technology plus it is a really high paying field which is why I’m currently pursuing a technology degree. However, I have always had an interest in the medical field and biological sciences. When I get to USF, I’m considering majoring in that field of study but I’m not sure if that would be the right move for me as jobs are limited in that field unless you decide to pursue medical school which I would not do.
The most I would do is go to Physician Assistant school which is only 2 years. I am also interested in aviation and becoming a pilot. I love traveling and enjoy the plane ride just as much as the trip its self. I heard it is actually pretty easy to become a pilot nowadays because technology has changed and planes are much more automated than they were before. Plus there are flight schools readily available which allow for graduation in as little as 2 years.
Finally, I was considering law school after I get my bachelor’s. The law has always fascinated me and I would want to become a criminal defense lawyer to help protect my client’s rights and ensure that person is treated fairly by the judicial system, as that is often a huge problem nowadays. I would also want to practice personal injury law and help victims gain compensation for someone else’s negligence.
My strong suits are writing, English, and I am a decent reader. I am not so good at math, specifically algebra. I was wondering if anyone could help me decide which path to take? I want something that is going to pay off well in salary but be rewarding and enjoyable at the same time. Thank you for your help!
