Help me fellow UCF students/future students/parents

I've been on the pre-med track this first year and after a full year of taking all those science and math classes, I realized it's not what I really want to do. It's not that I've been doing bad in them, it's just that I realize it's not where my heart lies. My parents have been pressuring me and never once asked me what I want to do with my life, so I've basically wasted a year taking classes chasing after their dream. I want to break it to them soon, but for me to do that, I would have to choose a major and convince them it's what I want. Maybe you guys can shed some light on what kind of majors out there that are available to me.

I love to travel, so a job that offers traveling opportunities would be great. I love to be of help to people and I'd say I'm pretty good with customer service. Job security to me is VERY important. The pay is also important, but I'm willing to work my way up. I know these are very vague, but honestly, I haven't quite figured it out myself yet. I'm still in the process of researching and asking you guys is just part of my research.

I'm kind of 'blind' when it comes to other majors. List some majors that you think would fit me and I'll definitely dig around. Please and thank you for your help!

hospitality industry sounds like it might suit you. How are your foreign language skills – thinking interpretor services (could involve travel, helping people, need good people skills). Any interest in sales and marketing – again, often involves travel, need good people skills. Go to the career center at your school, you should be able to meet with some one and discuss your interests or take one of those tests that helps pinpoint your strengths and weaknessess. How’s your relationship with your advisor --he/she may be helpful in figuring this out.
Good Luck to you!!

I’m interested in going into the pre-med program at UCF if I get in, is it just for the honors college or UCF in general?

Thanks freecycle, will definitely look into that!!

As21609, I’m pretty sure there’s no such thing as a pre-med program at ucf nor is there such major. People usually just refer to themselves as a pre-med student based on how they’re taking pre-reqs to fulfill the requirements of med school in order to apply.

That being said, you don’t need to be in the honors program to be a pre-med.
