There are a few things i want to know before i apply. Can you take courses in schools other than the one you are in? Also, how easy are internal transfers (i know wharton is hard, but wha about the college)??

Yes, taking courses at other schools is fine -- it's all part of the One University concept. Transfering between schools is possible, but depends on from where to where.
Into Wharton very difficult, between Engineering and CAS possible, from Nursing difficult.

why is it difficult to transfer from nursing

Someone can correct me, if this is no longer true, but in the past admissions to nursing was not as competitive -- they don't want people to use it as a backdoor to the other schools.

what about a transfer from nursing not to wharton (like arts and sciences)

Possible, but frowned upon.
If you apply to the Nursing school, the presumption is that you want to be a nurse. Your ECs, the classes you took etc. will reflect that desire. As I said, they are on the look-out for people who are trying to use Nursing as a backdoor to the other schools.

well i want pre-med, and I actually think that nursing would be good for pre-med, becuase you get hands on clinical experience with patient care. and I could take the pre-med courses (bio, chem, etc.) in Arts and sceinces. But i was just wondering about internal transfers if i didn't like the school of nursing.

Well, the Nursing school is for people who want to be nurses, not physicians. If you are planning pre-med, than probably one of the other schools would be a more appropriate choice.

are there any pre-meds in nursing?

anyone know?

Not sure if this is true, but I have heard that in light of the nursing shortage (at least in Canada anyway, I don't know if the US is experiencing the same problem), med schools are more reluctant to accept a nursing student, as that would take away a "future nurse" and only contribute to the shortage.

Try posting this question (can you do pre-med as a nursing student) in the pre-med forum...
