My father is pressuring me into applying to all these top schools and I really dont think I have the credentials to get into these schools!! The only schools I applied to that I think I have a chance of getting into are George Washington, NC State, U of South Carolina, Howard(i dont want to go here at all), and NYU would be a stretch...in my opinion, but thats where i really want to go.

I just need some recommendations of what schools my credentials could get me into. preferebly in Boston, NY, DC, NC, SC, or GA

i have a low self esteem when it comes to this stuff because my SAT score are pretty low and all I have seen are pretty high scores.

have you tried retaking the SAT’s? what about studying for them, it’ll make a big difference. Try some schools like Boston University because they have a good IR program. Maybe try NYU as your reach. Try googling top pre-law schools and see what you get.

well thats my second time taking the SAT, i thought i aced it when i took it but i was disappointed when i got my results… i guess i should take it again on Jan 24 but by then some schools close the books for sending in SAT scores…or would they still accept them?

Where are you from now? I think GW and NYU are big reaches for you and SC is no guarantee for you, one of my friends with a little bit better stats got rejected last year

Your SAT scores are right in line with the National average in each section. Don’t sweat it, you’ve applied and now it is truly out of your hands. Your father will surely gratefully accept whatever college you are accepted to and decide to attend as God’s will. Howard and NC State are good schools. Good luck as you await your other decisions.

It’s a great reassurance to have an NC State acceptance. I am also a North Carolina high school senior, and the majority of my older friends are NC State grads who are leading very good lives right now with an NC State degree. Some CC’ers may look down on State, but in North Carolina, it’s a solid degree to have.

i dont even think i want to major in political science anymore. i think i would rather go into engineering or marketing. Is it really hard to get a job outside of NC when you graduate from NC State? I really dont want to live in NC after college or at least grad school.

I keep seeing you post that you got into AU and GWU and I am so jealous! These are my top two favorite schools. I’m only a junior, so I still have a year to wait for the good news. (Or bad news…). Congrats on AU!

Wow, congratulations on all of those acceptances! You really deserve it. The stats you see on CC are obviously not representative of most of the US. Everyone you see here has the top 10% of test scores. You’ll still be successful regardless of NYU/GWU’s decisions.
