I have to say that this is the first time I’ve ever heard Davidson described as a school dominated by jocks!
Also, isn’t Davidson need-only? If so, GPA should not be an issue going forward.

I don’t know Davidson except by academic reputation, which is excellent. But in response to @Consolation, when my son was choosing between the colleges he was admitted to one factor that ruled out Williams for him was that it was “too jocky.” There can be an atmosphere even in high intramural athletics participation. While he was a great sports fan, he had no athletic skills or pretensions. (In truth, I don’t know if that “too jocky” characterization was correct about Williams. It certainly has an excellent academic reputation. But it was more the isolation that bothered him.)
As others have mentioned, you have 2 wonderful but very different choices. I do think both campuses are very pretty in their own ways. I’m not sure how much this matters to you, but Franklin Street and Chapel Hill tend to be more bustling, with more restaurants. The area near Davidson has a nice college-town feel, but definitely smaller. I think Davidson might have been too small for me, but others love the close-knit, personal feel. I think UNC would have been too large for me as a freshman, but it has a lot of opportunities.
