I really can’t decide where to go to college.
I would love to here some of your opinions.
I would really love to go to the University of Dayton, but it is too expensive.
I am now looking at Miami University, Wittenberg, Mount Union, and Ohio State.
I’m not sure what I will be studying yet, probably Spanish Education. I like to be pushed academically, but I also like to have fun. Please give me any insight you might have for any of these colleges, good or bad.
Thanks!
Miami U and Ohio State are both excellent schools - quite frankly, probably better than the University of Dayton.
What did you love about Dayton? What are you looking for in a college?
Thank you for your response. My parents always ask me why I love Dayton so much, and it honestly is hard to find something about it that is that much better than the other schools I’m looking at. It’s probably not worth the price. But, I love that many people are involved in intramural sports. I am obsessed with basketball and would love going to watch the flyers play. The huge turf field is amazing. I loved the dining hall. When I visited I just got a really good feeling on campus, everyone seemed friendly. The size is perfect, not too big, not too small. I’m not sure what I’m studying, so I think Dayton is a good place for undecided students. I know a lot of people that have went and loved it.
I’m looking for a college that’s a little out of my comfort zone, a little far from home. But I want to make new friends and get involved. I’d love to do intramural sports. I don’t know how I feel about sororities, so that concerns me about Miami. I see the positives and negatives in both small schools and big schools.
I can’t believe that I am saying this, since I am a Michigan student, but OSU is definitely a solid option. Still my least favorite school though.
If Dayton is too expensive, do you cringe at the idea of too many students, too few students? We know several students at OSU and Mount Union. Mount Union is friendly and a lot of kids play sports, either intramural or varsity. I don’t know about their basketball team but football does very well! They also have a strong education department, don’t know as much about the Spanish. With approx 3,000 students it is larger than Wittenberg and has a higher endowment if that matters to you. The kids we know at OSU are happy. They don’t mind larger lecture halls and have found their people. Feel free to PM me if you have specific questions of either school. It might work to do an overnight at one or two of your other top choices and hopefully it will become clear. Best wishes in your decision!
