I am accepted into University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Arizona State University, and Kansas University. The income that will be listed on my FAFSA from my parent will be 0$. I live in Nebraska. I am accepted but do not qualify for any scholarships what so ever. I want to study engineering, and I want to go to a high profile graduate school(think MIT or Cal-tech). Very good in math, can tolerate science. I want to best education. So say I had the exact same statistics from which college would the high profile graduate schools see these statistics in the best light? Oh and also I want to join a fraternity.

If you have major financial need (which it sounds like you do), your in-state school is probably the best bet. UNL has some good programs and you may be able to do very well there. Grad schools in engineering will care about your research experience and recommendations, so get involved wherever you go.

With a zero EFC, the out of state schools will probably not be affordable.

OOS publics can’t help you with the aid that you’d need to cover their out-of-state costs. OOS publics can’t usually cover the needs of their own in-state students. :(

Therefore, your in-state public is likely your best choice.

do you know if UN-L meets need for its residents? If not, you need a financial safety school. Did you apply to a school that you can commute to?
