Looking for a private school with a strong undergrad psychology program. Just need help naming 1 or 2 matches and 1 or 2 reaches.

Thanks.

[Psychology Schools/Programs in the United States of America](Discover Best Colleges In U.S. - U.S. News Best Colleges)

This has a good list of colleges, both private and public, that offer psychology programs.

This is good thanks, but i was just curious as to which schools have a good reputation and a solid programs.

SUNY Stony Brook has a good program.

Maybe you can give us a little bit more info on what your looking for in your school to help narrowing it down. Do you want a greek life? Sports team? Do you want to stay in the northeast? etc

Somewhere east of the Mississippi R, but not in the south, so basically the northeast VA, NC, SC, MD, that general area.
NOT in New York
Private school
Indifferent about sports and greek life

Stonybrook has an amazing program, but too close to home

Reach: Tufts, BC
Match: BU, Holy Cross, Brandeis

Not in the exact area you specified, but PA has some great private schools with good psychology programs:

Reach: Gettysburg, Dickinson
Match: Muhlenberg, Univ. of Scranton

In NJ, Drew could be a match

Clark in Worcester is also reputed to be strong in psychology. Freud visited there when he came to America and there is a statue of him on campus to mark the occasion.

I’ll climb up on my usual soapbox. Have you talked to your parents about what kind of school they can afford? Do you have financial need? Do you absolutely need merit aid? Privates go for a pretty penny. OOS Public U’s cost about the same.

Match: Belmont/College of Charleston/Miami (OH)/UIUC (if your willing to go as far as IL)
Reach: Johns Hopkins/Duke/Cornell

if you can up your SATs closer to 2000 then I’d look at UPenn
