Help me decide what school(s) I should apply for ED/EA

Hey all, so the point of this thread is to help me figure out which school(s) I should apply ED/EA for. I'm considering these schools:

CalTech
UChicago
Columbia
Duke
Harvard
Johns Hopkins
MIT
Northwestern
Stanford

I'd also appreciate a chance at UC Berkeley.

Resume:

GPA: 3.85 (UW) - School does not weigh GPA
Rank: School does not rank, but around top 10%
School: Probably the most competitive private school in FL.
Ethnicity: First Generation Hispanic (Male)

ACT: 35 (36,36,34,33) - Will send this one unless they request all scores
SAT: 1st time: 1980 2nd time: 2180 (Like I said, don't plan on sending these)
SAT II: Not so great, will retake Math II and Bio - 740 Math II, 720 World, 690 Bio, 800 Spanish

APs:

US History - 4
Spanish - 5
US Gov - 5
Comp Gov - 5
English Lang - 5

Senior Year Schedule:

AP Bio
AP Physics B
AP Calc AB
English IV
Artificial Intelligence Honors

ECs:

Research internship (Biomedical Engineering) at UMiami this summer - Will enter study into Siemens competition and will probably be published - 300 community service hours

Worked at sportsmemorabilia.com as an intern last summer providing SEO and public relations

Have a fellowship lined up for next summer working at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital to work on bionic eye

Worked for two summers as paid sailing instructor at yacht club - 200 more community service hours since I used to volunteer here

Worked at local yogurt place part-time during the school year for a few months

Quiz Bowl/History Bowl since soph. year - competed at nationals every year, won JV states, a few other titles, top 300 in the nation.

Sailed competitively for 8 years (School and Club)

JV Lacrosse (9th, 10th)

TeenAngels member

Used to DJ pretty large charity events

National Honor Society/Mu Alpha Theta

AP Scholar with Distinction

Probably going to major in aerospace/astronautical engineering, biomedical engineering, or astrophysics (is this even an undergrad major?).

Thanks so much!

I don’t think people can really help you decide. If you apply ED, you can only apply to one school and it is binding if you get in, because of that I recommend you apply to your first choice school (your stats are strong enough that it is not unreasonable that you apply to any of the schools on your list). That being said if you can’t decide apply EA to as many schools as you want. If you decide to do ED, pick the school you would be happiest at. Good luck!

Chance me? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1357249-what-my-chances-swarthmore.html

Thank you! Still looking for a little more input

only apply ED to a school that you are 100% sure is your top choice, unless it is nonbinding, in which case you could apply to a school you are less sure about. if you’re having any doubts or second thoughts about ED, though, you probably shouldn’t do it.

Hispanic with 35 ACT and “good” GPA and rank.
Solid chances at every college on your list.

I will go with EAs and RDs.
