Help me decide where to go to college! Colby vs Colgate vs NYU CAS

Hi everyone. I recently got accepted to Colby, Colgate, and NYU CAS. I’m having a difficult time deciding which of the three to attend because they are all so different – two LACs vs a city school. I’m interested in eventually going into business or law. I plan on majoring in the humanities and/or something in the social sciences.

I like the on-campus life at Colgate, but I’m worried about feelings isolated. I enjoyed my visit at Colgate, and I was really impressed by the job office and alumni network.

I’m worried that Colby’s too small and I’ll still feel like I’m in high school. Also, Maine is difficult to get to and it would be somewhat of a hassle. However, Colby’s academic reputation is stellar.

I was originally set on going to NYU next year, but I’m worried that I’d be happier at Colgate/Colby. Also, I’ve heard that students at CAS interested in eventually going into business aren’t happy and wish they were at Stern.

Any insight or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

First things first: which can you graduate from with the least amount of loans?

@collegemom3717 All three are affordable.

It sounds like you prefer the 2 LACs. And you are concerned about colby’s small size and distance.

Pick Colgate, then. It’s just big enough and social enough that I don’t think you will feel too isolated.

Colgate tends to keep good company:

If you think you would be happy there, you would seem to have little reason not to choose it.
