Okay mom2collegekids, I understand what you’re staying now. My parents are divorced and in the NPC we’ve usually only ended up needing to pay around 20,000 for a 50000 or so priced school. Erin’sdad, yes I see what you mean as it’s a super wealthy sport but my parents are the actual trainers which is the only reason I’m able to afford it. Thank you Sue22 I will look at that one!

I think most of the colleges discussed so far are CSS profile schools and require non-custodial parent financial information, too. So the Net Price Calculators are likely giving you a higher grant estimate/lower cost of attendance than what you will actually see. That could be a big problem for you. You need to find a couple of financial safeties you know you can afford. Possibly in-state options?

Okay, good that you are plugging in all three incomes, that should give you something in the ballpark of their expectation. You still need to make sure you have at least one financial safety you KNOW you can afford and also consider not applying anyplace ED, as you then won’t be able to compare financial aid packages.

Yeah, I’m just not sure where would be good for me. I’m hoping to get at least a 1900 or 30 on sat/act. But I don’t know where I can get in. I want to go to the best school possible. UVA would be a dream but I know that it’s very difficult for out of state.

With 3 people’s income, your expected family contribution is about $20k? Does that mean that when you total everyone’s income, it comes to about $90k or so?

Have the parents agreed to how much “each side” will pay?

Yeah, that’s about right. And my parents are great, so both will be willing to pay whatever if it’s the financial aid is good. Any thoughts on Lehigh?
