I know little about mid-western colleges, but I’m guessing they would like to admit more international students. Most international students go to colleges along the east and west coasts.

Look carefully at out of state tuition rates for various colleges. Most US colleges provide little financial aid for international students, but some mid-western public colleges have reasonable out of state tuition. If you are looking for another set of public colleges with reasonable out of state tuition, look at the many campuses of the State University of New York.
