[Rowan Univ. CoE](<a href=“The Division of Academic Affairs”>The Division of Academic Affairs), each of the four engineering specialties has a curriculum that allows exactly 4 gen. ed courses/12 credits over eight semesters. Not enough to minor in anything unless you take extra courses or stay an extra semester. If you dig enough there is a page where each dept. lists the available minors. Rowan’s College of Engineering lists none.

I’m very simliar to your situation. My scores are almost identical, I don’t want to stay in-state, and I dont want west coast. Here’s my 2 cents:

I wouldn’t exactly count yourself out of the original schools you stated. Not completely. I didn’t expect to get into Purdue or UIUC but I did with stats simliar to yours. I am in a “pre-engineering” program but your in IB so that should equal out IMO.

These are some of the other colleges I considered: U delaware(hehe), U of Maryland, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech(I got deferred to BTW), U of Florida, Penn State, Penn, Cornell(big reach but whatever), RPI, Stevens institute, VCU, NC State, Drexel, University of Tennesse, University of South Carolina…

O and all tech schools should allow for a minor in spanish

I think picking a school just based on its name is flawed on all levels. Just because it has a prestigious reputation doesn’t mean that you would necessarily fit in there at all. That being said, I do not believe you would be considered by those schools without a much higher test score. Georgia Tech is a great choice, and I would have chosen it if I didn’t live all the way in Texas and had oos tuition. Anyways, there are plenty of great engineering programs out there that would fit you.

I understand you want to stay on the east coast, but Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology may be just what you’re looking for despite the location (Terre Haute, IN). It’s a fantastic school and your stats could probably get you in. I fell in love with its collaborative, geeky atmosphere after attending their summer program, Operation Catapult (also highly recommended).

In fact, I am currently pining over whether to go there or stay in-state at UD… :)
