Help me improve my chances b4 its 2 late!!!!

I'm only in 10th grade but i already feel like my chances for ivies are gone, like no chance (mostly b/c of extracurrics, awards)

UW GPA: 3.7 (b/c of IB)
W GPA: 4.677
rank- top 5 out of ~550+ (i m a contender for val but things might change after junior year IB)
PSAT- 168 (low, didnt study)
major- biology/pre-med

sched. 10th/1st sem. grades
AP WH..................B
Honors Chem...........A
Honors Alg 2........A+
PIB English...........B+ 93 (a B+ is 90-93)
AP US Govt..............B
IB Spanish 4........A+
PE- B+ (i know, i know)
i expect my second sem. grades to be B+, A+, A+, A, A, A+, and A respectvely

exactly, how many B's is too many? i dont know about your school, but in my school it's nearly impossible to get straight A's with a sched. like this FIRST SEMESTER. I've created this trend of bad 1st semester grades but awesome 2nd sem.

and now what i regret the most-
ECs
Hosp. volunteering (9,10) 150+ hrs
Interact (9,10)
Humanitarian Club(10)
Academic Bowl (10, and following yrs as well) 2nd in districts
Forensics/Speech (10) 1st in districts, 5th regionals
Spanish club- (9,10) secretary 10
church youth choir- 10

attended alchohol/drug seminar summer after 9th
i should get into Governor's Academy for spanish this summer

for 11-12 i plan to continue w/ the above and take dance lessons through church, something i always wanted to do but my parents couldnt afford it.
and possibly play field hockey and tennis

I'm not good at sports or music- am i screwed?
I read about so many CCers w/ really good stats and excellent EC's who still get rejected and i know it's impossible to determine chances 4 top 25 schools. but is there anything i can do to improve? any tips?

haha jeez. ur so young to be asking for chances, ur grades r fine, does ur college release semester grades to colleges or just final year grades? and listen when i say this, ur rank is what gets u into a college, if a 3.7 uw gpa is valedictorian at ur school, then thats as good as a 4.0 kid at another school who is valedictorian if the schools reputations are equal, and dont listen to any posters who say u cant raise ur psat up to a respectable sat bc u surely can and will if ur on this site already realizing how good every1 else is. if ur looking at harvard princeton yale stanford mit caltech columbia, ul need to get 2250 at the least, for lower ivies check their common data sets, but really, if ur top 5 in ur class of 550 and got a 2250, SOME ivy will take u on if u do anything productive with ur time, here's some tips since u asked: get ur parents to hook u up with an internship or apply for them, make sure u go on a study abroad trip bc they look for them in interviews, model un is looked on very favorably, debate as well, science research if thats what ur into ie intel etc. are all very strong ec's that arent sports. what u have listed right now doesnt look bad, my interviewer for georgetown even told me the bulk of most of her applicant's ec's came in after sophomore year when u get acclimated to hs, so dont worry at all and just focus on ur grades and scores, bc without those, no college will even look at ur ec's.

"attended alchohol/drug seminar summer after 9th"
I wouldn't include that.

If your major is bio/pre-med, then show some more interest!! Start a club, join some clubs, get an internship, shadow a doctor, win some awards (i.e. USABO), etc.

Get a decent SAT score, show some interest for biology, and keep your grades high and you're pretty much guaranteed a spot at any of the lower ivies (not HYP).

Your other stats are nice. The only thing that worries me is your PSAT score. I hope your SAT score is not just that number with a 0 in front of it.

I'd like to remind you that the SAT really isn't something you can study for. You can only really prepare for it. Buy some practice tests and study over the summer unless you are 100% sure you can get 2250+.

thanks a lot!
