Help me narrow down my college list?

UC GPA: 3.79 (CA resident)
Cumulative GPA: 4.04
UW GPA: 3.56
Potential major: Anthropology

Took 7 out of 9 honors classes available (and that was bc my freshman schedule was super screwed up)
Took 7 out of 9 academic APs available

Leadership positions: COPR human rights club (junior/senior year), confirmation helper/leader (junior/senior year), technology team (senior year--it's a new thing at my school), school ambassador (9-12 grade), mock trial (10th gr), scattered community service (9-12 gr)

Highest SAT score so far has been 1920 but I'm retaking it after prep, aiming for ~2000 at least.

I'm probably being completely subjective rn, but compared to other high schools in my area, I'm pretty sure mine is like one of the toughest. Also, my school doesn't offer rankings, but my counselor told me that I'm somewhere near the top of the class. If that helps.

Tentative List
- Marist
- Arizona State
- Regis U
- Penn State
- Syracuse U
- Loyola Chicago
- UC Riverside
- Northeastern
- NYU
- Wake Forest
- George Washington
- UC Irvine
- Emory
- Georgetown
- UCLA
- UCSB
- Johns Hopkins
- UCSD
- UC Berkeley

I wanna cut down about 4-5 schools, but I really like all of these. I guess I'm also concerned about getting some undergrad research experience and premed training/advising would be preferable.

do you have 3 SAT II tests? Georgetown “recommends” them

have you run the net price calculators, shown the results to your parents, and heard them say that they will pay any of these schools’ costs? if not, you don’t have a list.

That UC-weighted GPA is low for Berkeley and UCLA, unless you will qualify under their “local context” admissions (if you don’t already know what that is, then you probably won’t). I think Johns Hopkins and Georgetown are probably extreme reaches with your stats. If you want more realistic liberal arts colleges on your list, you should consider replacing them with Tulane and Occidental. If you like the idea of D.C. area, apply to GWU and/or American instead. Emory is also a reach. If you are a CA resident, you have some solid, affordable safeties on your list already, and can probably eliminate ASU. Would you really prefer Riverside and/or Irvine to Santa Cruz? I think UCSC probably is stronger in Anthropology, and your chances of getting in there are excellent. I might be mistaken about that; I just happened to know people who went to UCSC for anthropology many years ago.
