Help me on my high school resume..please

Ok i tried to search on google for samples but I couldn't find any legtimate ones. So my question is how exactly are you suppose to type your resume. My school has an example resume they give to every student, but I didn't really understand it. It says that you should use tables to make your resume.

This is example of how I am doing mine, is it correct?

(all the categories in bold are underlined, I just didn't know how to underline it on here.)

First off...

there is no right or wrong way to do resumes. Resumes are supposed to be to the point and in a format that is pleasing to the eyes. You want to make sure your potential employer (school admin in the case) to be interested in it enough to finish reading it. The main key is keep to one page at all costs! Especially since you are still in high school, one page MAX!

Second...

"I don't know whether this only bothers me but what if you have like a really long EC and a short EC is it ok if they aren't align right. Is the way I did correct?"

Again, no right or wrong way to do this...if it were my resume, I would even it out by putting the grades right justified on the page and the activities flush on the left side of the page. This will spread out the resume and make it look cleaner, which I think is what you wanted. You should use this same format for your volunteer and work experience.

Third...

make sure your name/address/contact info is centered at the top of the page, bold and slightly larger than the rest of the text on your resume. This will make you stand out and pronounce yourself as a bold, person who is proud of your accomplishments (or at least that's the way I look at it...).

Fourth...

Were/are you responsible for anything with any of your clubs or volunteer/work experience. If you were put in charge of anything or given any leadership roles, I'd a bullet under that activity and write a sentence stating what you were responsible for or what you successfully completed through that task.

Fifth...

The objective looks pretty good, but kind of ambiguous. I would say "Objective: To attend (enter college of interest here) to major in Public Health in order to attain my career goal of ________________."

Sixth...

Resumes are about selling yourself...know your strengths and make sure they come out clear on your resume. It's the readers way to get to know you professionally in a page of text, your maturity will come out with a good resume.

Edit: As an example, in your volunteer section you said you delivered mail to patients. A way to jazz this up and make it sound more professional is saying that you successfully delivered mail to patients or that you were responsible for delivering mail to patients.

"Again, no right or wrong way to do this...if it were my resume, I would even it out by putting the grades right justified on the page and the activities flush on the left side of the page. do u mean this

activities 11
activities 11

I don't know how to do that. My objective is to major in Public health and I want to work for the World Health organization or any other health organization and educate people about Health in Africa, but I don't know how to write that and I don't want the objective to be long...

What I mean is put the activity flush on the left side of the page, then hit the tab or space bar until you are at the other side of the page and put something like: "Grades 9-11"

This would be an example (formatting of this reply space makes it difficult...)

Dance Team Grade 9

As for your career objective you can say something like "plan to attend ________ college to major in public health to accomplish my career goal to be an ambassador of public health in Africa"

Again, these are just suggestions...feel free to do with them as you please. Just giving you ideas based on my experience.

Edit: Formatting makes it impossible to give the example as I wanted to to look like...let me know if you still need help understanding what I'm trying to convey.
