Help me or I might end up at a CC, like all my peers!

I know this isn’t the chances board, but I just can’t help it. If anyone could give me any info. on my chances it would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!!!

Junior from a not so competitive high school in Maryland. 46% of kids go to the local community college, but there has been 1 person excepted to Yale (don’t know if they attended) I know, my school kind of sucks.
I will be a first generation college atendee (I am white, from a low middle class military fam.)
ACT- projected to be about 29-30. Will take in June.
Rank- Top 10% (30/400)
GPA-3.6 uw about 4.1w
I will graduate with 10 APs. Toughest courseload possible. You should have seen the look on my counselors face when I told him that I wanted to take 5 AP’s next year. Oviously my school doesn’t really see too many 4 year college bound kids. Especially ones that want to go out of state.
my AP’s are (U.S. Hist.,Euro. Hist., Chem, Lang, Stats, Bio, World Hist., Lit, Phy., Latin Lit.) I haven’t taken Calc. because my county sucks and most seniors don’t end up taking it. I tried to take it at the local CC but they are tied to my high school and my counselor wont give the approval because he doesn’t want me to over work myself. So I finally just gave up.

EC’s
4 school clubs - President of Latin club for 3 years, and very invovled in the other 3. Officer in two other ones for next year.
Played the piano for 8 years, no major awards through…a $100 scholarship. I play for fun and don’t really like to compete.
Lots of CS…about 300 hours
120 hours at camp for children with life threatening illnesses
30 at a camp for the girl scouts…I am not a scout by the way
red cross
food drives
drug awarness programs
doing stuff for the school clubs I am invovled in.
Teen court- This is one of my favs, you decide the punishments for teens who have broken the law.

Awards
I won a national CS award that few people recieve…its a lengthy process and takes a minimum, if a year to get. I guess it is prestigious.
Won 3 essay scholarships worth about $5,000.

Well I feel wierd trying to glorify myself…and again, any coments on my chances or advice to inprove myself will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for actually reading all this mess. THANKS

The college process is all about selling yourself as best as you can. If you won't do it, no one will!

As for your chances, it's hard to say. Bryn Mawr adores demanding course loads, so you're golden there. They also look really closely at your essay, so when you get around to writing it, put your soul into it.

Good luck with everything, and stay ambitious!

Thank you a bunch!

You're certainly a respectable candidate for Bryn Mawr. Not the same as saying you'll get in. I'd say keep on doing what you're doing, keep your head up. Yes, you've got some heady competition and it would be silly to ignore it. But FirstGen college is a bump that no one should begrudge you. Good luck.
