Help Me Out!

I'm a black female senior attending a competitive public high school in Florida. My stats are:

GPA: 3.278UW/3.611W
My class rank is in the top 25%

I did very poor my sophomore year due to anorexia and depression (obviously linked). I don't know how to explain this to my guidance counselor for the student evaluation because wouldn't most colleges consider me to be a liability?

SAT Reasoning: I did horrible. 1550/2400. I'm retaking it and I'm expecting a 1850/2400.

AP Courses That I'll Have By Graduation:
Human Geography, World History, French Language, Comparative Government, Microeconomics (self-study), U.S Government, Psychology, French Literature (self-study) and Macroeconomics.

ECs:
Chorus (since 2003)
Model United Nations (since 2005) - President and co-founder
Business Professionals of America (since 2006)
Politically Active students (since 2006)
Writing currently a 70K word novel that will be soon published in early 2008

I also review books for two large publishing houses (Little, Brown, and Company; Henry Holt and Company) and I'm a staff writer for an online women's magazine which takes up time as well.

200 community service hours

Awards:
Lettered in Chorus
District and Statewide Chorales and Ensembles of Excellents for Chorus
Who's Who

Essays: Was about writing and how it's important to me. All my teachers love it.
Recommendations: Really good as well

I'm going to include my journalism supplements as well because I'm hoping to be a foreign correspondent.

My college choices are:
American University
Sarah Lawrence College
Sweet Briar College
Agnes Scott College
Skidmore College

As you can see, I like small liberal art schools, especially women's college. Give me suggestions.

I'm planning to major in International Relations with a minor in Creative Writing. I'd love to go to Georgetown, Bryn Mawr, or George Washington but I'm obviously hopeless with those schools.

I need your help!

come on...

I agree with a yes from Agnes Scott. Don't know about the others though.

i'd say skidmore is a reach

Any other comments or suggestions? My guidance counselor is like freaked out that I'm picking colleges she's never heard of and she's no help.

dude... come on.

i know i'm always bumping it but how do i explain the situation about my sophomore year? that brought my gpa down amazingly... :(

btw, i have a 4.0UW, 4.3W so far this year

write it in an essay. and make it good.. there will be plenty saying the same thing...

Try Simmons College in Boston....Boston is an amazing town to go to school in and Simmons is a really decent school.

With your writing accomplishments, as a URM you may well get into many good schools. I would add Smith and Wellesley as a reach.l

Suze...without that higher SAT score, I really think she'd have no shot at those.
