So I'm taking Business Economics next semester. Bus Econ is basically Intermediate Microecon.. My concern is that I've not taken any kind of econ class in my life, so I'd like to pick a book to read over winter break to get me started. Since I'm going to be traveling during the break, I don't want to carry a heavy textbook with me the entire time. My question is, do you guys know any small/concise book that talks about basic Micro/Macro economics, along with some exercise problems? I was checking on Amazon.com and I found this book called "From Here to Economy-A Shortcut to Economic Literacy" by Todd G. Buchholz. Would that book be something that suits my need? Thanks!

Micro and Macro are very different since their focuses are different. From that book's description, it seems to be a combination of both subjects and would not really help you if your course is a Micro course. There is not really one good book for Micro, I think. Some professors go so deep that you would need to use calculus to solve the problems while others just test you on terms and concepts. Maybe you should send an email to the professor that will be teaching this course and ask him/her for a good book to read? I mean, what you need to know really depends on what the professor wants to teach.
