This is random, but I was wondering if people could recommend good economics textbooks. Just basic intro economics (macro and micro). Perhaps if you were happy with the book you used at your school, you can share the name of the book/author and the school you used it at. Thanks!!!

I liked mankiw principles of econ, very good pictures and diagrams, although I didn’t use it because my teacher lectured straight from the book and it was podcast, so i had the lecture notes and the podcast, no real need for a book

Principles of economics by mankiw was good enough that I temporarily changed my major to economics and am still hoping for a career path in the subject.

thanks! sounds like a promising recommendation!

Would that textbook be good if I’m self-studying AP Macro/Micro?
I’ve already got the Barrons AP book for focusing on the exam itself.
But would the textbook cover that material? Or is it more of an intro?

I used McConnell & Brue’s Economics back when I took AP Econ - I didn’t think it was that great at the time, but when I had to take introductory economics courses for my major at UCSB with Bergstrom’s Experiments with Economic Principles, I realized that it was a much clearer text than I’d thought. I’ve read that Mankiw’s textbook is pretty good, though.

What are guys smoking?
