Help me pick a college?!

I'm torn between Agriculture/Life Science and Human Ecology. Does anyone have any info that could help me make a decision?

I'm applying ED to major in Nutritional Science and probably minor in Global Health. I want to work on nutrition in other countries (possibly peace corps) but also have the option of being a Dietician here.

Stats: 32 act (retaking), 1370/2080 SAT, 3.95 UW, 4.46 W
Lots of volunteering with animal shelters, run a nutrition blog, in a volunteer club and a fitness club. I wrote my essay on my veganism and basically making the world a better place.

I really like the mission of both of them and the nutrition programs seem pretty similar so I pretty much want to know which you think is the best "fit" for me! Thanks!

Anyone…?

Well considering I remembered your CALS essay question earlier, you might want to stick with that one since your essay is done. But, choose whichever one you want. CALS has one of the easiest admit rates but so does HumEc. HumEc has higher test scores. You “fit” extremely well with both and do not really have an edge in either (in my opinion). Ultimately, choose which one you like the best. -a fellow nutritional sciences prospect

Thank you! I think I’m leaning a bit more towards CALS. Good luck fellow nutritioneer! :)

I would say you should go CALS simply because you may want to change your major and CALS has more major options

What happened to Yale?

Thank you newyork21! I hadn’t thought of that. I think ill go with CALS with HE as my alternate choice. :)

@saugus, I made this account freshman year when I really had no idea what I wanted to do, it was just a not-well-thought-out dream :p

CALS is more science-y and applied, where as HumEc is more about human development and progress. I’d say look at each of the college’s distribution requirements and see which ones fit with your mindset better.

Also, once you get here, if you change your mind there’s a great office of internal transfers that can help you if you want to go from one to another.
