Help me pick between two schedules

Hi! I’m going into my sophomore year, and I’m a psychology major aiming for occupational therapy school. My advisor is strongly recommending I take Intro to Psychological Sciences this semester. The problem is, they only have 2 options for that class, neither of which work very well for my work schedule. Plus, they’re both full. So assuming a spot opens up, which schedule should I go for?

Tuesday/Thursday: 8:00 Spanish II (I’m doing a Spanish minor, only class time available, good prof). 11:00 Human Growth and Development (another required psych class). 2:00-3:15 Intro to psych sciences (with a good prof).

Monday/Wednesday/Friday: 1:00 Intro to psych sciences (with a poorly rated prof). 3:00 Spanish II (same teacher as T-Th, also full at the moment), Human Growth and Development online with bad prof, and other classes online.

I should mention that I’m a commuter who lives 45 minutes away.

Only you know if you can get yourself to school in time for an 8AM class and be functional. If the answer is yes, I’d go with the better professors.

Sounds like the second option isn’t really available since the 3:00 spanish class is full. So when the time comes to make changes to your schedule you may only have option 1 anyways.

But if you think there is a good chance option 2 will be available, then it’s up to you. If you do option 1, you will have mondays and fridays off (meaning long weekends) and will not have any bad professors, but you will also have longer classes (I assume your T/Th classes are longer than M/W/F classes) and you have to be in class at 8 in the morning. If I were in your situation I would make a pro and con list.

  1. Your college work should come before your job. You should find another job if it interferes with classes.
  2. Go with the good professors.

Schedule 1. Go with the good professors.
