help me pick colleges

Ok, I am having quite a hard time picking my reaches, matches, and safties.

I am an Asian male, and I am planning to study engineering.

My SAT score is between 2000-2100

and I only took 1 sat2 subject test.(Math2:790)

I will take my SAT1 this October ( planning to get around 2100,)

and I with take 3 SAT2 subject tests this november( Math2,Chemistry,Chinese

with listning--I am taking Math2 again because I think I can get 800 with no

study.)

GPA: somewhere around 3.9(10,11th grade)

ECs:School Math Club founder(11th grade) and the president(12th grade)
Varsity volleyball 2 years
Varsity Soccer 2 years( soccer champion among international school in China)
varsity Basketball 1 year
School vice president(12th grade)
class representative(11th grade)
Choir 2years
Newspaper 3 years
Canadian math competiton school winner
and some service activities.

I am going to apply to Cornell engineering with ED,
and I dont really know my safties and matches.

I have a random list of colleges that I would like to go to and they are:
carnegie mellon,NYU,u of chicago,Purdue,UC berkeley.. etc

can anyone recommand me some safties and matches with good engineering

or math programs?

NYU doesn't have an engineering school yet (they have been discussing a merger with Polytechnic, but nothing is done yet). They have a 3-2 program with Stevens Institute of Technology though. As far as I know U of Chicago doesn't have an engineering school as well.

Try RPI, Case Western, Bucknell, Lehigh, Rose Hulman, GaTech, Univ of Maryland, Univ of Texas, VaTech.

Rice and UT

I think you are more likely to get in Cornell ED than CMU.

Chicago does not offer engineering. Physics and math, yes.

Do not take Math II over again! Schools will not see an 800 as being more valuable than a 790! Johns Hopkins would be a good replacement for U Chicago, because it does have a big engineering program.
