Okay. I've recently been thinking about books that I read a long time ago, and I've been able to recall most of them, but here are three that I haven't been able to find for the LIFE of me. I've googled (and I'm a good googler!) but to no avail.

I'm seventeen now, and all of these books were read between the ages of, I dunno, eight and ten, I'd guess, so all this means is that these books need to have been out by 2001 or so. We'll say 2003 to be safe.

I'm pretty sure that this book was written for elementary-school or middle-school audiences. It was this sci-fi-esque book about this boy on Earth who was approached by these aliens (I forget under what circumstances.) They challenged him to this interplanetary game... I think it was a card game... ish. I don't remember for sure if there were stakes or not, but I think there were. Anyways, everyone was playing as a planet (or multiple planets?) and each planet had skill levels, right? And the main character was TERRIFIED because Earth's skill levels were so low. But then at the end it turned out that the lower skill levels were BETTER! And he won!!! (Note: I might have actually invented this book in my mind and thought it was real.)

This one is pretty straightforward. There was this girl and she had this imaginary boyfriend that she skipped school to meet on the beach, and all of her friends were worried about her because SHE HAD AN IMAGINARY BOYFRIEND. I don't know if we knew that he was imaginary from the beginning or not... probably not. But anyways, it turns out that he was the result of this repressed kidnap (and rape?) memory. She had been kidnapped (maybe by her uncle or something?) and taken to this store, where I believe she was raped/molested. And the name of the boyfriend turned out to be part of the name of the store, backwards, because she had seen it while she was being raped or whatever.

This was a series, and the titles were either "Fire," "Ice," etc., or contained the words "Fire," "Ice," etc. All I remember was that they were about this weird, haunted girl who was taken to an island? I believe? And weird **** happened with evil people. I've found a lot of stuff that seems to come close, but nothing that made me say "OOHHH THAT'S IT!"
