Help me select some colleges!THX...

I was rejected by Cal Tech already. And I think it's because I rushed their supplements and didn't say anything too specific. I deserved that.... Anyway, I also applied to Penn Engineering. As an international student, I really don't see much hope here. Here are my stats. And it will be really nice of you if you can give me some suggestions on my school choice:
SAT: CR:680 W:720 M:800 (single sitting)
SAT 2: Math2:800, Physics800, literature: 600(Okay I was taking this instead of chemistry just because I really wanted to know sth. about English lit. I think it can be a big minus)
AP: All 5s on CAL BC, PHY B, PHYC X2, Chem.
EC: a 3D biology video-making project, intern at NIH, semi-pro magician(lol, I only performed at some occasions at school), volunteer subtitle translator for one year, founded the first school forum with >800 registrants
Honors: AMC distinction & achievement (below grade 11 and scored over 90 on AMC 12 ), 4th place on Math competition of Maryland U, A on edX electronics & circuits(a really tough course including differential equations and complex circuitry)
I also got a recommendation from a tenure at NIH.
weakness: 1 Other than the short answer, my essays are really not focused or persuasive.
2 International students always have amazing SAT scores.
Do you have any college&program suggestions? I have no "Ivy dream". I am only looking for a great science school that fits me.

So, are you an engineering student? If not, what are you planning to study? How much, if any, financial aid do you need? And what country are you applying from (it can make a difference.)

Cal Tech is highly selective. Many kids with your stats and achievements get rejected. It doesn’t indicate anything about your chances elsewhere.

@M’s Mom I am applying from China. Engineering, math, computer science are all great to me. I think the financial aid will not be a problem, not saying my family is well-off, just because my parents agree that they are willing to pay for a fanstastic undergraduate education. I am thinking of Carnegie Mellon and Harvey Mudd. Do you know other schools that might fit me? It would be nicer of you if you can recommend some schools with specialties like programs or internship chances. Thank you so much!
