Help me to decide major (College of Chemisty)!!!

Hi guys

Im a new junior transfer student in UCB.
Im currently doing ChemE/MSE joint major.
But I heard that there is no such benefit for graduating with this joint major.
So now Im seriously considering to change my major to ChemE only.
Then it would have less requirements and I dont need to take the terrible MSE courses.

Please tell me the advantages & disadvantages of doing this joint major after.
And how will the jobs be different?

My primary goal is to get a job after graduate. So I hope to keep doing my joint major if it will be helpful to get a job. If not, I think there is no reason to keep going on this harder path.

If you really dislike MSE, you will probably dislike any MSE jobs that taking the joint major could help you get.

You may want to see the career survey results for both majors over the years: https://career.berkeley.edu/Major/Major.stm

It doesnt mean I dislike MSE.
I want to know the differences between ChemE and ChemE/MSE after graduate…
and advantages/disadv. for doing joint major.
I think it will be better to do ChemE only if the joint major doesnt really worth it …

If you do not dislike MSE, why do you describe the MSE courses as “terrible”?

I just used "terrible"because I need to take more MSE classes. It may delay my graduation and of course, they are difficult enough.

I really want to know that this joint major will worth it or not.
I know there is not a simple answer but I wanna get some opinions and advices about doing joint major and its benefit.

Just focus on ChemE for now. Employers aren’t going to pay you a premium because you have a double major.
