Currently I am a sophomore and have a 3.83 unweighted and 4.49 weighted GPA for 9th and 10th grade combined. I’m ranked number 25 out of 552 students in my grade, planning on doing full IB Diploma starting next year, and got a 1180(91th percentile) on the new PSAT. I am going to be in Key club, NHS, and CSF for all four years. I am planning on being a Nordstrom Fashion Ambassador my Junior and Senior year. I am a Chilean (Latino) girl who was higher class when younger and then dropped down to lower class after having to be homeless at age 8 and then living with my grandma for 4 years until my mom was able to get a teaching job and get us our own apartment. My parents became divorced when I was 11, after which my dad has been in and out of living with friends, a motel or his car for the last 5 years. When I’m older I plan on opening up my own high end womens clothing store with 10-20% of the proceeds of all sales going to low-income or homeless families due to the fact that I never want any child to go through what I did. I plan on turning my clothing store into a fortune 500 company and along with real estate investments, I plan on making myself a millionaire maybe even a billionaire. I have very big dreams as you can tell. I am a very determined, ambitious, driven person. Funny story, when I was in fourth grade I wanted to buy a pair of zebra, pink accent flats, it was a dark time when it came to fashion choices, and my mom didn’t believe me that I would wear the shoes. We were in the store arguing for 15 minutes at least and she finally agreed to buy me them even though she still didn’t believe I would wear them. I wore them everyday until they fell apart just to prove my mom wrong. How good of a chance do I have at getting into Stanford/USC?
