My friend is sort of freaking out about college and has no idea where to begin with the search process. She has little idea of what she wants to study in college but has shown some interest in going to law school after her undergraduate years. She is a rising senior. Her stats:
SAT: 1820
GPA: She is a low A student
APs: APUSH=4, WHAP=4, English Lang=4
She will be taking AP stats, AP economics and AP gov next year
Ecs: NHS, Mu Alpha Theta, Student Council VP, class VP since sophomore year, varsity tennis 3 years, Best Buddies
Volunteer: She's got around 200 volunteer hours including a good amount at a hospital nearby
Work: She works at a frozen yogurt place
Other: She's going to apply Hispanic and is raised by a single mother (Don't know if that makes a difference)
She will not be taking subject tests and I forgot her ACT score (It's Comparable to her SAT though)
We live in Texas and she sees UT as a sort of baseline, so schools comparable to it are good suggestions although she has trouble seeing the merit of some of the more obscure schools that are just as good if not better, which I am trying to talk her out of.
I know this is a lot of information, thanks in advance to all that help! I love this community.

You don’t go to law school as an undergrad. Law school is a graduate program. If she is in the top 7% of her class then she should take UT. If she is not I doubt she will get in there or any real comparably ranked Us. What can her family afford?
