HELP! Need advice on deciding a major, IM STUCK!

I am trying to decide between…

-Bachelor of Business Administration in Business Information Systems or
-Bachelor of Science in Strategic Communications and Social Media Management

The business classes I have taken so far are an absolute bore but I know a business degree could be applied in almost any field. I was looking at this degree bc of my interest in government/political sciences jobs I looked at.
But I was also interested in communications as I think I would enjoy working for a company and handling their social media accounts. I believe communications could be applied in many fields as well.

My problem is that I don’t know what I want to do as a career. No idea whatsoever. I feel like I should just get through the business classes and I will be happier with the job opportunities that will offer me.
The communications degree looks “fun” but will that degree even be taken seriously? Do you know anyone with that degree that makes decent money? The money part is definitely a factor.
I just don’t know which one to chose, I would like to have a degree that will help me in the future whenever I figure out what exactly I want my career path to be…

Both are general degrees with a wide variety of applications. Neither will guarantee you a high starting salary with a 4-year degree. But for most professional jobs, the degree is just to get in the door and the rest is up to you.

Advice: Major in what you enjoy, in this case Communications.

^Yeah, what Nashville said! Most jobs that you could get with a BA in business straight out of undergrad you could probably also do with a BS in strategic communications.

Also, remember that quantity of opportunities isn’t the only important thing: it’s quality of opportunities. It doesn’t matter if there are 3,000 jobs you can apply to with the business major if you hate all of them. It’s better to have 500 opportunities that your interests, talents, and skills are well tailored for. (But to be fair, I don’t think the gap is that big, if it even exists.)

You also don’t need to know what you want to do as a career. Life is rarely a straight, direct path. You can pick whatever major is more interesting to you and decide later.
