Hey everyone....I got into San Jose State University and Concordia University John Molson School of Business with my 3.67+ GPA... They say that I need to accept to enroll in the school by Nov 1 and Nov 15....and I still haven't heard back from my other schools...

Tulane University and Cal Poly SLO......

What do I do in this situation? They say that if I dont accept to enroll by then, they will revoke their application...

First, I’d call up the college that wants a commitment and asks for a limited time extension. Get it in writing. Butter them up about how interested you are in their college, but you need to compare financial aid, etc. They might even be able to make your deposit refundable for the first month??

Second, call up the colleges that you are still waiting to hear from, explain your situation and see if they will give you any feedback or tell you when the decision will go out.

If those don’t work, you may have to risk a nonrefundable deposit in order to keep your options open.

Standard practice is May 1st response date for all admissions according to NACAC responsibilities and practices; no school should be requiring a commitment prior to that date UNLESS you applied to a binding ED program…

I can’t find it right now but it is in black and white on the NACAC website…

Let your guidance counselor know about this and write to NACAC to report these schools; not cool at all…

I am confused by your post, SJSU is a Cal State Univ. SJSU does not send out acceptance notices to freshman for Fall 2011 until Feb 2011. Did you apply as a transfer student to begin spring semester 2011? If so, yes, you have to decide whether you will accept by date given. Check the college, but if it is like any other you can later withdraw that acceptance. Moreover, check to see if they will give you an extension.

You could try calling the two schools you haven’t heard from yet to see if a decision has already been made. Explain to them that you have looming deadlines from two other good choices.
