This will be really quick. I'm a male senior, I have a 3.55 unweighted GPA, 4.2 weighted. I'm still waiting on SAT and ACT scores, but I'll post those in about a week (estimated 26 composite ACT, 1700 SAT). I have the necessary community service hours, no more, no less. My uncle is an alumni (a former Left OT for the Gators) and he said he'd call to get my application pulled. When I graduate, I'll have my A.A. Degree from SCF. Also, im in the top 10% of my class. Sure, I'm in NHS, but so is everybody. I'm a member of Skills USA, Mu Alpha Theta, and a former member of National Art Honor Society. I'm really stressing this decision, so, as I stand, what do you recent UF undergrads think about my raw academic disposition? Do I stand a chance at being accepted to the great UF? If it helps my case, I have an EXTREMELY low yearly salary (>$15,000) and I have some pretty good stats to highlight my devotion to UF...

Your wGPA is fine at 4.2, and I’m assuming class rigor is ok, if your delta between GPA and wGPA is 0.7 or so. However, we do need to know your test scores. To be a “match” you need a 1,800+ SAT and a 26+ ACT (average SAT in 2012 was around 1970…).

UF doesn’t put much weight behind legacy status, so don’t expect it to have more than a minor impact on your app.

Good Luck!
