<p>Hello!
Can any of you kind folks give me any idea of the kind of universities that have a really good reputation for Study Abroad programmes. I have been told that Jesuit Colleges have a big international focus, and really pride themselves on organising years abroad, but I'm not sure whether you can generalise about this sort of thing. Are there any rankings/league tables for Study Abroad universities? are they clustered in certain areas? are there any universities that really have no inclination to send their students away?
Basically, I just need as much info as possible on American Universities and the new Study Abroad tendency prevalent in education today.

<p>That really helped. I didn't know ratings like that existed. I have been scanning everywhere on the internet but to little avail. Do you know if there are any more lists, good places to find information (surveys) on the internet?

<p>Hi my name is Antonio. I am a sophomore student at Middlebury College still hesitanting about where to study abroad. I am French but have lived in New york my entire life and speak fluent spanish. I am also learning Portuguese. I am a history major. I have narrowed my choices down to 4 places.( no preference in any):</p>
<p>1- Niteroi, Brazil: It's just outside of Rio (Universidade Federal Fluminense) and offers good courses in History and Poli. Sci. Since I have just begun taking Portuguese it would be a language experience. Never been there.</p>
<p>2- Madrid, Spain: This would be an experience purely for the culture and the school. Have never been there.</p>
<p>3- Buenos Aires, Argentina: (Universidad de Buenos Aires). Also would be for the culture and have never been there.</p>
<p>4- Paris, France: The school would be Science Politiques if I were to be accepted. It's a very prestigious school and I would go mainly for that. I have been to Paris many times but have never lived there or spent more than two weeks. </p>
<p>Please give your opinions on which one I should chose. Should I go to one place for the year, 6 months one place and 6 months another, or just 6 months abroad. Thank you for your comments</p>

Never been there"I'm brazilian!!!UFU very nice university..you might wanna check UFMG(Universidade federal de minas gerais) one of the best universities in Brazil(top5) and it's located in Belo Horizonte a big city but much safer then Sao paulo and Rio de Janeiro..feel free to pm me!!!

<p>As a Middlebury native with an MA in French from Middlebury and two daughters who are half French but have not lived in France since they were very small, I wanted to give you my thoughts on this. (I also studied abroad in Rome for my Junior Year with Loyola University of Chicago. It was a fantastic experience and I am currently living in Rome once again.)</p>
<p>If I were you I would go to Sciences Po if accepted. Paris is a great city for students and since you are French, you should be very well accepted and should you decide you would like to return to work someday, you will be able to do that legally with no difficulty. I believe it is important for people to get to know the countries they have passports from, and I hope that one day our daughters will be able to return to France to live for a while as well. One daughter is currently a sophomore in Boston, experiencing the United States after having been away since the age of two. (We lived in 4 different countries as they were growing up.)</p>
<p>Whichever study abroad program you choose, I would recommend that you spend a full-year so that you will truly be able to get a grasp of the culture and improve your language skills as much as possible. Whatever you decide, have a great time!</p>
