Hi, I will attend UCLA Pre-Biz Econ Program as a transfer student in Fall 2018. I am aiming for a job in Banking or Consulting.
- Can I have a minor in Finance?
- I read about the Finance concentration, is it worth the hassle?
- Where can I search for class information on UCLA especially the syllabus?
I confused right now and hoped that several fellows here know the answer.
@aeon123 Hi! I don’t want to sound condenscending but your questions can easily be found on the Ucla website. There is no finance minor.
There is a concentration in Corporate Strategy and Competition, Public Finance and Economic Policy, and eventually, Global Economics, and Data Analytics. its not a hassle since you’ll have to take a lot of those classes anyways because the biz Econ major by itself does not have enough required classes to graduate Ucla. You can get class information on myucla under the class planner. A little digging in there should do the trick. The Econ dept website is also a good resource. That’s where I went to answer your question. I charge $.05 per google search I had to do jk. Best of luck and congrats on choosing Ucla.
It seems like finance courses and at least a couple of basic accounting courses would be a natural fit for banking or consulting.
