Hi,
I am a freshman just admitted by the NCSSM program. I am not that intrigued to go due to its cost (all financial aid are out), but I am pretty sure that I don’t have a lot of other opportunities to take part in summer activities for this summer. Is the NCSSM astronomy program helpful in college (specific to my case, Texas academy of math and science as well) applications, and what is this program like during the week in Raleigh-Durham? Is the program worth participating?
Any information/experience/analysis will be appreciated here. Thanks for helping.
Colleges like to see you spend your summers doing something productive.
That can mean:
Getting a job
Babysitting your siblings
Going to an academic camp
Taking a course
Volunteering
Its always good to explore your interests.
But you have to take your family finances into account.
Will going here get you into College for sure? no
