When you get to the college plans page on the finalist application, you find various choices: I plan on attending an accredited college/university; I plan on attending an unaccredited school; I am undecided.
My son will be attending an accredited college, but we want to remain undecided on which school. We’ll pick a school later, before the deadline.
So do we select “I will be attending an accredited college” and then leave the college blank, or do we choose “I am undecided”?
@JLowder … I think he should select the accredited college option and leave the college blank. Whether he is shooting for the one-time $2500 scholarship or one of the larger $$ “unofficial” NMF scholarship schools it probably looks better to NMSC to show he plans on attending some accredited institution. I don’t know that it would have any impact one way or the other, but better safe than sorry.
Talked with National Merit today and they explained that the Undecided option means “I don’t know what college I’m going to yet,” not “I don’t know if I’m going to college.”
