Ok Friday is my last day working at this nonprofit and the prez has agreed to do a rec for me but he wants to know how Cornell wants it...he knows it has to be a letter format but should it be personal, professional, wat?

I assumed it should just highlight the work i've done for the nonprofit and wat this says about my character/motivation/personal qualities etc

any input greatly appreciated

Yea that sounds right. That is how my letters of rec were. Just make sure that the person writing it knows you well and thus can convey an accurate sense of what you did during the activities.

As far as format goes, as long as it is genuine and semi-formal, it should be good. I highly doubt Cornell has a specific form for college letter recs.
