Every year I have my schedule for the next year always decided, and right before it's time to go to the counselors, I hear people talking or a teacher says something that make me doubt my schedule.
I'll give you some background to help you give me advice. I would love advice from teachers, professors, college students, etc.
I have a 4.736 weighted GPA and a 3.936 unweighted GPA. My class rank is 5 out of 739.

This year I'm taking AP US History, AP Chem (which is two periods), AP English Lang. and Comp, Physics I H, Student Aide, Fashion I and Pre-Calc H.

As you can see, my school offers 8 classes. Next year, I was thinking of taking 6 classes, in order to get out early so that I could get a job, for obvious reasons.
Here's the classes I wanted to take:
AP Physics
AP Calc BC (two classes)
AP English Lit and Comp
AP Gov (but I want to take this online, as everyone says the teacher doesn't teach well)
Fashion II (so that I could have a fun class)
Anatomy/Physiology H

My English teacher told us today that it isn't a good idea to take a shortened schedule because we're competing with kids who will take a full schedule their senior year and colleges will want them over those taking shortened schedules because we chose the "easy way out".
I'm not sure that would be the deciding factor though, it's not like I'm taking regular classes. I thought that I deff. want a shortened schedule, and if I did maybe I should take AP Bio instead of fashion? I really wanted to have a "take it easy" class but I also want to keep my ranking. I don't want it to seem like I'm being lazy, but I also don't want to kill myself my senior year. When I took Bio I my freshman year, it wasn't my favorite and it deff. wasn't as easy to me as chem or physics is, but then again I took bio my freshman year...

Any advice would be so helpful. Thank you :)

Oh and when my teacher was telling us that we wouldn't fare next to those taking a full schedule, she was referring to those applying to IVY leagues. My top choices are Stanford and Cornell, which are very prestigious, so take that into consideration as well. Thank you.
