Help on thought of transferring

I currently attend Sarah Lawrence College (first year) and I'm contemplating transferring. Actually, I'm pretty sure I want to, and I'll apply and then decide in May/June.

Why? I think it's too artsy for me. I mean I'm definitely weird and quirky, but everyone seems to be more aloof or pretentious and I know that's how a lot of people are in a lot of colleges, but the whole atmosphere of the school just seems to be more about the "troubled artist" and the energy of people feels like fragmented? not down to earth?

I do love the small class sizes though, and the interactions with professors. I don't even mind the writing/conference papers, but I do wish some things were a little more rigorous or structured? Not that I can't do the independent thing, 'cause I can....

I'm majoring in psychology (want to be a marriage and family therapist). And I wish there was more of a balance of people here, I guess.

I was looking into UChicago (probably wouldn't get in), Middlebury (might be too normal, not quirky/geeky), Bowdoin, Trinity College-CT, Barnard, Reed (might also be only weird in the hippie kind of way), Wesleyan? Moreso focused on Bowdoin, barnard, Uchicago...

Any thoughts? Transfer rates? Help!

For transfer rates go to the College Board’s Big Future website and search by school.

Thanks! Anyone else have any opinion on Barnard or UChicago or Reed or any of the ones i mentioned…?
