<p>im applying to nyu fordham ucsc and ucb
I'm having trouble tying in my story with my major/transferring to the schools with keeping an appropriate word limit.</p>

<p>The UC's only want a 1000 word limit for TWO essays. While as NYU and Fordham don't have a word limit, I still want to stay in an appropriate word limit. Thanks.</p>

<p>A general rule of thumb for major essays is about 500 words.</p>
