So, I took the March 5th SAT and scored 1100 on the test (540 R+W, 560 M). Yeah, I know it’s not great but I’ve been working hard to improve my score for the June 4th SAT. With one week left, I noticed that my range has plateaued. I have learned all these new strategies or whatever but I’m not sure if how I am studying is really helping. I don’t know if it is my practice test conditions, nervousness, or just simply inefficient studying. I know that there is only one week left (well more like 9 days left) but I have lots of time to study because I do not have much homework since APS are done and the school year is ending.
If anyone has any tips or ways of studying, please let me know!
Have you done all 4 of the Khan Academy practice tests under timed conditons?
Make sure that you are identifying WHY you’re getting things wrong and try to improve on it. Since you only have one week left; I recommend focusing on one area (either reading or writing or math); and eat, sleep, breathe it. Hopefully, you’ll score really well to bring up the composite score.
As for strategies, don’t stress it when you’re doing a practice test. The strategies should come naturally and not a forced process because you’ll waste more time trying to remember a specific strategy whereas you can look at the problem, identify what they’re asking, look at the answers and find the best approach to it (strategy). You’re probably too caught up on strategy than the material too. If you don’t know the material then the strategies won’t do much.
You should check out Khanacademy with their practice problems and quick videos for refreshers.
