I need to take summer classes next year and need help paying for them, yes I know they are not that expensive but both of my parents have passed away and things are kind of rough. I do not want to get a loan! Can I get scholarships along with my financial aid in the spring/fall? If so how do I apply for scholarships I actually have a chance of getting? And are these taxable? I have really good grades 3.8gpa and could just use some help.
Thank You

Talk to your school FA office about what options they might have. You may be able to get a dept scholarship or something.

Agreed, talk to your college. BUT is there some necessity for you to take college courses next summer? If not, and finances are an issue, perhaps a job could be considered instead.

What is a dept scholarship?

Yes im double majoring

dept = department

My daughter applied for scholarship for summer directly from here college and was given it. She also worked in a job at the school over summer or did research and got housing. So talk to your school about what is available.

Talk to your school about this. They will be able to give you an answer. But really, I’m going to say again…if finances are a significant consideration, perhaps working in the summer would be a better choice than taking classes.

Thank you! I will talk to my school.

Also be sure you are not taking money that is needed for the regular school year. Make sure any summer allocation is extra.
