Hi, I'm a high school senior considering a career in physical therapy, but the colleges that I plan to go to, don't have physical therapy as a major. What do i need to major in, in order to go to PT school after graduation? Also, I'm not very clear of the overall process to become a PT. So if you could shed some light on that, I would greatly appreciate it.

Kinesiology is a good major to enter physical therapy field.

Hi. My D is also considering this route. However, you should know that the trend in the industry is to get a DPT--Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.
You can get an undergrad degree in anything, but most schools have a strict list of "prereqs" they expect you to take as an undergrad. Check out the DPT programs at USC, Emory, Duke, Wash Univ in St Louis to see. As a point of reference, she's a bio major, with minors in chem, psych and dance. She still has to get at least one prereq outside of her school because they didn't have a specific course she needed.....

Also, here's a link in cc you'd find helpful.

Another great source is the American Physical Therapy Association--this link in particular: http://www.apta.org/AM/Template.cfm?section=PT_Programs&template=/aptaapps/accreditedschools/acc_schools_map.cfm&process=3&type=PT
