<p>It can be done, if that is all the time you have, it is rushed though. We flew into Boston in the AM, drove to Bowdoin for an afternoon tour/info/interview, then drove to Waterville. Next morning, did Colby tour/info/interview, then drove to Lewiston for lunch and tour/info at Bates (no interview there) then back to Boston that night. It was summer, so not many students around, but it gave her a decent look at the campuses and surrounding towns.</p>
<p>OP’s distances are farther, I know, but as someone who likes to drive, I think my main worry would be DC traffic. Blacksburg to Harrisonburg looks like a straight shot up the highway. I would have considered a morning tour at V. Tech, then drive to JMU and do a late afternoon tour.</p>
