HELP PLEASE! Allegheny College or Pitt

Hello all, I am a freshman at Allegheny and about to finish my first year. I am really not having a good experience at Allegheny and submitted some transfer apps to some schools. I was accepted into Pitt's Honors College. My major, economics, would not change if I attended Pitt. I like Pitt because I live in Pittsburgh, but I would have to start over for the most part with friends, and my GPA would not follow me from Allegheny. Does one of these schools have more prestige over the other? I want to graduate, work for a year or two, and then go to a top notch MBA school; with that said, do you guys think either one of these schools has an advantage for that over the other? What would you do?

Thanks for the help!

I think that Pitt is more prestigious than Allegheny, but that’s not necessarily important for getting into a good MBA program. However, Pitt may have better recruiting and career resources than Allegheny, and that might aid you in trying to find a job after college. And your job out of college IS important for getting into a top MBA program.

As an aside, if you are interested in a top-notch MBA program, plan to work for 3-5 years after college, not just one or two.

Bump. Anyone else?
