help, please! chances at duke?

I'd say go for it. Good luck! I would accept you :) You seem like an interesting and well rounded person who woiould bring a lot to the universities you're applying to.

Duke... accepts a lot and you should have a pretty good chance considering they seem to pick out at rank a lot, it shouldn't really be too bad. Try for a higher SAT, like above 1500, and you should be good?

aww, thanks guys! but lollerpants, this sat score just isn't going to get any higher... i got 800s on the two sections i'm talented in, and i'm so mediocre at math that 640 is a gift! :)

anyone else?

u have a pretty good shot, cram for math and bring it to at least 700 and ur almost guaranteed in, otherwise, that SAT score might bring u down, ur ECs are alright and that volunteering in India can get u some brownie points. overall, u have a decent shot at duke

haha thanks azn_helljumper, i hope so...
too bad merit aid at that school is like im- to the possible...

start packing julia, you're going to duke!

thank you so much, sars 284! your opinion really means a lot to me!

member of City of Murrieta's Youth Advisory Committee?? What? What is a youth committe?

"on a side note, i volunteered at an orphanage in India for 6 weeks; i plan to write my essay about this."

Sir, I simply don't believe you.

the youth advisory committee was this special group of 12 high school kids. we convened to advise city council on youth-related matters and plan teen events. it was sort of an honor to be selected.

and about that side note, i do have photographs and video documentation of myself in India to corroborate my claim... but i'd sort of counted on their trust. i hope it's not necessary, because i think the majority of the college application process is vested in faith.
