Help Please..........i'm Freaking Out

<a href="http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/sat/scores.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/sat/scores.html</a></p>

According to the college board web page posted above, a student is only allowed to send scores of tests that he/she has already taken and college board mails out the scores approximately three weeks after requesting your scores be sent to so and so university.

Here's my dillemma: I plan on retaking the SATs on October 14th and exactly three weeks later would be November 4th, three days past the early decision deadline. WHAT DO I DO TO AVOID THIS? I would really appreciate it if somebody replies.

is there anyway you can take the SATs in another state? im retaking my ACTs in a state thats 5 hours away so that i can send my scores in before the deadline.

I don't think taking the test in another state is an option, college board has fixed dates for the tests regardless of your state.

I'm pretty sure colleges won't mind. Check with the college to make sure. And you can always send rush reports.

Ask for your report to be rushed

Talk to some of the admission officers of the schools that you wish to apply to... also talk to the College Board.

Also there is an earlier testing date October 8th I think... Use the college Board website to see if your school is administering it... if not search local towns. I believe that trying to take it in October would be the easier of the choices, because then you don't have to worry nearly as much.

It is my understanding that most schools will accept October scores for Early Decision. I would call each admissions office to make sure though. Never take advice from CC as Gospel! Do you own research, it's worth it in the end. Just use the advice from these boards as a "jumping off point"!

You should consider rushing your scores (extra fee), although some schools like Michigan won't accept rushed scores.

As an example, looking at Cornell's website it appears as though you they will accept the October scores for ED.

Plan to take the SAT before November of your senior year, or the ACT no later than October, if you will be applying early. Early-decision applicants are also strongly urged to take the SAT Subject Tests no later than November, because the scores are used in the colleges' early decision selection process.

Penn looks like it will accept October scores as well. This is from their applicant info page for the class of 2010. I'm sure that 2011 will be the same, but you should check it out.

Early Decision candidates should take these examinations either during the junior year or in the summer before the senior year, but no later than November 2005. Early Decision candidates who opt for November examinations must rush their test scores to us.

1) see if the college accepts rushed scores. Sometimes that can be slower.

2) You should be A-okay with october scores since they don't actually make decision until a bit into november.

October scores will be fine for ED at most schools. They won't even look at your app until mid-November because of all the processing. My cousin who works in the mailroom of an admissions office says it is a nightmare around deadline times. Still though, be sure to check with your ED school; they all have different policies. Fear not and good luck!

rush reporting.
Also for most schools they allow you to take one more SAT AFTER you already submitted the application. Usually there is a slot in the application form asking you when you will take your next SAT.
