Ok here's my situation. I signed up for the October 6th SAT. I need this SAT for a scholarship deadline on November 15th. But, I just found out that I have an important marching band competition on October 6th. So if I go to the contest the next SAT date for me to switch to would be November 3rd. However, as I said the deadline is the 15th and college board is listing internet delivery time to universities as 1-2 weeks. There are 11 days between when I would take the SAT and the deadline.

This contest is really important and I REALLY do not want to miss it. Should I risk moving the SAT date back to November?

I really feel for the OP. My son also has a marching band appearance Oct. 6. if he doesn't go, his band grade will be docked enough points he will not get an A. He is lucky, cause on a whim, he signed up at the last minute for the May SAT I, even though it was the day after a band contest he didn't get home from until 12:30 a.m. He was lucky he still did well, and now he just needs to hope for a good result on the Nov. date for the subject tests. i really wish schools would take SAT and ACT dates into consideration when scheduling things though.

Just also be aware you are making a mistake in your assumptions. When the College Board says internet delivery takes one to two weeks, it means one to two weeks after the test scores become available if you ordered them sent before that time. As for the November test, the CB is listing Nov 20 as the date for when the Nov test scores will become available on-line. In other words, if that scholarship app absolutely requires delivery of SAT scores to them by Nov 15, it most likely is not going to happen if you take the Nov test.
