HELP -- poor grade in Physics APC

So, recently I have gotten back a horrible test score, and if I worked my butt off I could probably get a C+ at best. The only course of action I have right now is to drop the course to not affect my GPA so badly. However, it probably looks bad to colleges to not take physics, right? BTW I am a junior.

My career goal is to be a neuroscientist (i.e. major in neuroscience in college). I want to go to LACs, and possibly some of the UCs (but those with more access to professors, such as UCSD or UC Santa Cruz), and getting the D or possibly C will probably kill my chances there. However, I read quotes similar to this one:
“ College admission is never just about
the GPA. A transcript with physics is
better than one without it.”
–Vikki Otero, Senior Assistant Director,
University of Colorado Admissions Office
and it seems pretty necessary.

Is it possible to get credit for an online physics course? I mean, I probably could do community college physics, but that is a lot less convenient for me.

Cut your losses and try your best for the rest of the year. I guarantee that suddenly dropping out of physics in the middle of the year is sketchier than having three good quarter grades and one very spotty one. Just fix your physics grade for the rest of the year and it will likely average out to a B (if you get mostly A’s from here onwards), which won’t kill you.

There are only two more tests. I actually might have it done so that I don’t have any record of ever taking physics. (I got a C first semester). So yes, damage has already been done. I mean, if I could, I want to keep my schedule the way it is. I enjoy the class, but the tests are so freaking difficult (at least to me).

bump? I know it is early for it, but it’s kind of urgent
