I'm currently a junior in HS, and I got a B in AP Bio first semester last year and a B in AP Physics first semester this year. For AP Calc AB, AP Art, AP Spanish, and AP English, however, I received an A. I got a score of 2210 for the November SAT.
Colleges that I am interested in are Stanford and UC Berkeley... Are my chances lowered because I received two B's in two of my AP classes first semester??
So stressed out because of this

Yes, your chances are lower. Other things equal, getting worse grades is always going to be worse than getting better grades.

However, your chances aren’t that different from what they were to begin with because they weren’t very good to begin with. At really selective colleges like those, nobody has very good odds and you’d have very likely been rejected even with all As. It’s worth it to apply, but you shouldn’t let it stress you out that you probably won’t get into literally the most selective college in the entire country.

It’s because they’re low for everybody. Stanford admitted 5.7% of applicants last year. When you have 40,000 people competing for 2000 spots, nobody has good odds.

Your score is in the middle of the middle 50% of Stanford students and the high end of Cal’s middle 50%. You’re not going to be denied either place BECAUSE of your SAT score, but if you think you can do better you might as well take it again.
